    How to Decide Which Live Events You Should Attend

    Over the course of the year I probably attend 4-10 major events as an attendee.  Back in 2005 I attended my first LIVE seminar event & I was hooked!

    The feeling I had when I left that seminar and the strategies, connections and results that came out of it were enough to convince me that attending LIVE events needed to be a part of my life.

    Actually, attending that LIVE event near San Diego back in 2005 led me to starting the Association of Women Entrepreneurs, but, that is a post for a different day!

    There are so many reasons why should attend LIVE events, which I wrote about in last weeks post: Why Should You Attend Live Events?

    This post will focus on how to decide which LIVE events to invest your time and money in.  With my experience of producing events for the last 6 years I have learned why people register for events and why they don't.  Here are the top 3 reasons...

    1) Topic - Is the topic of the event something you are interested in learning about?  Ask yourself, if this topic is something I need to move me forward in my business & life RIGHT NOW or could these skills or strategies enhance my business or life at this time?  If you are going to be taking time and money from your business, make sure the topic is something you need to learn.

    2) Featured Speakers - Learn from those that are where you want to be. Find a coach, consultant or mentor that is sharing their own step-by-step system on how to get where you want to go.  Do a bit of research on the person presenting and think about how you might benefit from learning from or connecting with them.

    3) Attendees - Typically if the topic is something of interest to you and it is presented by a fairly competent presenter, the room will be filled with other people just like you.  Many times I have gone to a LIVE event and what I got most from the experience were the connections I made at the event.  Be prepared to build quality relationships with the other people attending.

    Many people will make the mistake of deciding if they are going to attend a LIVE event by looking at the price and location.  By this I mean, the cost is low and the location is close. If these are factors by which you base your decision of whether or not you will attend on, well, you most likely will waste time and money.  Often times you may need to invest and travel to get quality education and I'm telling you it is worth investing in LIVE events for your success & the success of your business!

    Why Should You Attend Live Events?

    It always surprises me when I meet a business owner and they tell me that they have never attended a live event.  There are so many reasons why it is important for business owners to make the time to attend live events.

    Here are my top 3 reasons…


    Get out of working IN your business to work ON your business

    We can get caught up in the day-to-day operations of running our businesses and may miss out on learning about valuable improvements that can make a significant impact to our bottom line.  By making the time to attend business development events you will allow your mind the space to identify changes you can make or new strategies you can implement.

    Continue to learn and grow

    Being a lifelong learner improves the quality of your life and business.  When you attend live events you are exposed to the most up-to-date information and technology to help keep you moving forward.

    If you aren’t learning and growing you are dying and the same applies to your business. If you aren’t learning new strategies to keep your business on the cutting edge, your business is essentially dying.  By attending live events you can learn from speakers or connect with people that are aware of what you need to implement into your business for positive growth.

    Connecting with people in-person

    The strength of your business growth depends on the relationships you build.  The best place to connect with movers and shakers is by attending live events.  Whether it is the host of the event, featured speakers or other attendees, you will build more solid relationships when you meet these people in-person to learn from and about them.

    Yes, the holiday season is right around the corner & things are going to get busy, well even busier than they are right now!  Think about how "full" your life is and in just a few short weeks you will be adding even more obligations and tasks to your "To Do List"!

    WE want to share with you 3 things you can do NOW to help ensure you are happy, successful & stress-less this upcoming holiday season!

    1) Clear the Physical Clutter! 
    You might have a small pile of papers on your desk, mail on the kitchen counter or clothes on the bedroom floor, well, these things are eating up your energy, whether you realize it or not.  Take time to clear the clutter, one small pile at a time, and you'll be surprised at how much lighter you feel.  Fix those things in your physical space that are slightly annoy you, such as the door handle that sticks or the internet connection that is running slow. Once the holiday season is in full swing these things are going to REALLY annoy you if they aren't taken care of!

    2) Clear the Mental Clutter!
    Just like there is clutter in your physical space, there is clutter in your mental space that is zapping you of precious energy.  Things like negative self-talk & limiting beliefs can keep you from feeling 100%!  To ensure you stay happy this holiday season be aware of what you are "inputting" into you mind. Turn off the news and don't have conversations with negative people.  Did you know you can only think of one thing at at time? Repeating affirmations can be a great way to keep a positive mindset!

    3) Clear the Clutter in Your Calendar!
    Take a good hard look at how you spend your time and find ways in which you can receive a better ROI (return on investment)! For example, in-person meetings often take up 2-3 hours of your precious time. Recognize when you can meet over the phone, instead of in-person, to get the same result accomplished. Also, are there other people that can handle errands and tasks you are currently taking care of, things like shopping, picking up dry cleaning, post office or bank runs?  Time to let go of doing it all & delegate!!

    Once you clear the clutter in your physical, mental & time space you'll be ready to have a happy holiday season!

    You have heard this before I am sure,
    people buy from those they know, like
    & trust.  Facebook provides you with the
    unique opportunity to build relationships
    fairly quickly, easily & virtually free!  All
    that is required is an investment in your
    time.  The key is to invest your time wisely by maximizing your
    efforts on Facebook.

    Here are 3 SIMPLE tips to help you build that know, like & trust
    factor on Facebook:
    1. The more you post, the more people will get to know you.  Be
      sure your profile is complete, updated & has a professional headshot.

    2. Be sure what you post positive, supportive & "likeable" content!

    3. Help others to connect! Find those on your friend list that offer complementary services to the same target market.  Send a
      message encouraging them to get to know each other better.
      The more you give to others the more they will trust you!
    If you just focused on these 3 things you'll start to see your network quickly
    grow to lead to more business coming your way!

    When you build and maintain a "Success
    Mindset" there is no limit to what you can achieve! 

    Without a "Success Mindset" you may
    find any action you decide to take to
    be a complete waste of time.

    Your mindset is a habitual or characteristic
    mental attitude that determines how you
    will interpret and respond to situations. 
    A "Success Mindset" is simply a positive
    mental attitude or as W. Clement Stone
    would call P.M.A.!

    Here are 6 Steps to Develop a "Success Mindset":
    1. Clarify your vision of success by defining what success really
      means to you and keep this vision in front of you everyday!

    2. Focus on the goals of your vision and recite positive affirmations
      daily to confirm your belief in achieving your goals.

    3. Organize your mind & remove the negative thoughts & limiting
      beliefs that aren't working for you!

    4. Manage your life by creating time blocks in your calendar and
      actually sticking to them to give you confidence in yourself!

    5. Connect with the people, places & things you love, such as,
      enjoyable music!

    6. Collaborate with others to realize shared goals that develop
      a strong sense of trust, respect and appreciation.
    Follow these 6 steps to help you achieve greater success in your business
    and life in an incredibly short amount of time!
